How to Connect Shopify to Luminous

Follow these step-by-step instructions to seamlessly connect your Shopify account

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Access Shopify Settings

  • Log in to your Shopify account.

  • In the bottom-left corner, click Settings.

  • Navigate to Apps and Sales Channels.

2. Develop a New App

  • In the Apps and Sales Channels section, click Develop Apps.

    • If prompted, confirm that you want to allow app development by clicking Yes.

  • Click Create an App.

  • Enter a name for the app, such as “Luminous.” This is just for identification purposes.

  • Click Create App to proceed.

3. Configure Admin API Scopes

  • Click Configure Admin API Scopes.

  • Use the search bar to find and enable the following permissions:

    • Location: Toggle on both:

      • Write and Read Inventory

      • Write and Read Locations.

    • Product: Toggle on:

      • Write and Read Product Feeds

      • Write and Read Product Listings

      • Write and Read Products.

    • Order: Toggle on:

      • Write and Read Draft Orders

      • Write and Read Order Edits

      • Write and Read Orders.

    • Fulfillments

      • read_fulfillments

      • write_fulfillments

  • Click Save to confirm the configurations.

4. Install the App

  • After saving, go to API Credentials.

  • Click Install App.

  • Once installed, reveal the API token. The token will start with “SHPAT.” Copy this token.

5. Set Up the Connection in Luminous

  • In your Luminous account, navigate to the bottom-left corner and click your name.

  • Select System Settings, then App Integration Account Settings.

  • Click New App Account.

  • Set the App Type to Shopify.

  • Label the app, e.g., “Shopify.”

6. Enter Shopify Credentials in Luminous

  • Paste the API token (starting with SHPAT) into the Shopify API Secret field.

  • Copy the API Key from the Shopify app and enter it into the corresponding field in Luminous.

  • Determine your Shopify Store Slug:

    • This is found between “store” and “settings” in your Shopify URL. It’s often your store name or a unique identifier (e.g., D1F22-815).

    • Enter this slug into the Store Slug field in Luminous.

7. Finalize and Test the Connection

  • Toggle on the options for Get Products and Show Inventory Locations in Luminous. This enables inventory pushes and data synchronization.

  • Click Save to complete the connection.

Confirmation

Your Shopify account is now connected to Luminous. Inventory management and synchronization are ready to go! If needed, refer to additional tutorials for troubleshooting or advanced features.
