Step 1: Navigate to System Settings
In the bottom left corner of Luminous, click your name.
Select System Settings from the menu.
Go to App Integration Account Settings.
Step 2: Add a New WMS Connection
In the App Integration Account Settings page, you’ll see your existing connections.
Click New App Account to create a new connection.
Under App Type, select the WMS type. For this tutorial, we’re using Track Star.
Step 3: Configure WMS Connection Details
Enter the details of the WMS you’re connecting to. For example, if connecting to Ship Hero:
Fill in the WMS name (e.g., Ship Hero).
Specify the inventory quantity type to pull:
Options include Sellable or On Hand.
Select On Hand, which also accounts for pending sales orders (On Hand - Pending = Sellable).
Toggle the option to pull fulfilled orders only, which ensures Luminous only pulls orders marked as shipped. Leave this toggled for now.
Step 4: Enable Inventory and Product Sync
Click Get Products and Show Inventory Locations:
These options ensure inventory accuracy across multiple warehouses.
Differentiate between warehouse locations if the 3PL uses the same WMS for multiple sites.
Click Connect WMS and wait for it to load.
Step 5: Authenticate the WMS Connection
Once the connection loads, click Continue.
Select the WMS of your 3PL from the list (e.g., Ship Hero).
Enter your username and password for the WMS.
For other WMS options, such as POSCO, additional details may be required:
These can usually be obtained from your WMS login, 3PL contact, or a technical contact at the WMS.
Step 6: Manage Products and SKU Mapping
After connecting, click Manage Products:
Map SKUs pulled from the WMS to the specific products in Luminous.
Verify that stock levels are correctly synced to the appropriate SKUs.
Check the third column to ensure accurate mapping and inventory data.
Step 7: Configure Warehouses and Warehouse Groups
Navigate to Locations:
Create a new warehouse and warehouse group for the 3PL.
Edit the warehouse group settings:
Mark it as externally managed.
Select the WMS connection to pull inventory from.
If the 3PL has multiple locations (e.g., West Coast and East Coast), use the filter to identify specific warehouses.
Step 8: Pull Inventory Data
Once configured, click Pull Stocks and then Submit:
This action pulls inventory data for the connected 3PL.
Verify that the inventory is syncing correctly across locations.
Step 9: Pull Sales Orders (Optional)
To pull sales orders from the WMS:
Set up a channel similar to connecting with systems like ShipStation or Shopify.
Enable sales order syncing to manage order data efficiently.
You're all set! Your WMS is now connected to Luminous, allowing you to manage inventory and orders seamlessly.
