Import Variant SKUs
Use this to create new variant SKUs under an existing master SKU. This is ideal for products with multiple variant types like colors, sizes, or materials.
Adds new product variants.
Links them to an existing Master SKU.
Automatically names each variant by combining the Master SKU’s name and the variant data (e.g., “T-shirt - Red”).
🚫 Import Master/Variant SKU Details (Deprecated)
This tool was originally used to update data for existing master or variant SKUs. However, the Import Master SKUs feature now supports editing both master and variant SKUs, making this import method redundant. It is no longer necessary to use this tool.
How to Use “Import Variant SKUs”
Set Up Variant Types
Go to Manage - Variant type
Under the Variant Types tab, on the upper right corner select the "Add Variant type"
Define what types (e.g., Color, Size) apply to this product.
Add the specific terms under each type (e.g., Red, Blue, Small, Large).
Prepare Your Import File
Go to Tool and search for Import Variant SKUs.
Download the Import Variant SKUs template.
Fill in:
Master SKU: The existing SKU you want to attach variants to.
Variant Values: The terms matching your defined variant types (e.g., Color = Blue).
Import the File
Upload your file under Add New Variant SKUs.
The system will automatically generate product names based on your Master SKU and variant values.
Check for Errors
If any variant term doesn’t exist in your Master SKU’s variant setup, the import will fail for that row.
Common Questions
What happens if I try to import a variant term that hasn’t been defined?
The system will block the import and notify you that the term doesn’t exist in the master SKU’s variant setup.
Do I need to manually name each variant?
No. The system automatically creates product names by combining the master SKU name and the variant terms.
Can I use “Import Master/Variant SKU Details” to edit my variant SKUs?
No. This tool is outdated. Use Import Master SKUs instead for updating both master and variant SKU data.
