This tool replaces static, guess-and-check configurations with a guided interface that supports field selection, transformation, and live previews—making implementation faster and more accurate.

This article walks through how to configure integration mappings and apply them to a specific channel.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Open the Integration Mappings Tool

Go to Manage - Integration Mappings from the left-hand menu.
This is where all mappings are managed for external integrations.

2. Select or Create a Mapping

Choose an existing mapping or create a new one. In this example, the Fulfillment Order object is used as a sample for mapping.

3. Launch the Field Mapper

Click Field Mapper to open the configuration interface. This tool allows you to match Luminous data fields to destination fields in systems like TrackStar.

4. Map Fields from Luminous to the Destination System

  • Blue fields show data available in Luminous.

  • Gray fields show where the data will be sent.

  • Required fields are clearly marked; optional fields can be deleted if not needed.

🛠 Example:
Map order_number from Luminous to customer_id in TrackStar.

5. Use Transformations (Optional)

Transform data to meet external system requirements using built-in tools:

  • Lowercase/Uppercase transformations

  • Mapping short codes to full values (e.g., UT → Utah)

Use the AI Builder to auto-generate mappings for complex fields, like converting all two-letter state codes to full state names.

6. Preview Output

A real-time preview shows how the transformed data will appear when sent to the destination system.

7. Save the Mapping

Click Save to store your configuration. This mapping is now available for use in any channel.

8. Apply the Mapping to a Channel

  • Navigate to the Channels tab

  • Select the relevant channel (e.g., VCOE).

  • Edit the channel and in Order destination toggle the Advanced Mapping

  • Once saved, all outbound data from that channel will use the specified mapping.

Tips

  • Only required fields must be mapped. Delete unused optional fields to keep the configuration clean.

  • Use the preview pane to verify the data structure and avoid errors in external systems.

  • If using AI Builder, double-check all generated mappings for accuracy—especially for non-standard inputs.

Common Questions

What happens if a required field is missing from the mapping?
The system will block the data push and show an error until all required fields are mapped.

Can a mapping be reused across multiple channels?
Yes, once saved, a mapping can be assigned to any number of channels.

What if the destination system changes field names or requirements?
Mappings can be edited anytime. Simply return to the Integration Mappings tool, adjust the fields, and save.
