Step 1: Create Your Inbound Shipment in Amazon
In your Amazon Seller Central account, create an inbound shipment for the inventory you’re planning to send to Amazon. This tells Amazon what you’ll be sending and where it’s going.
Step 2: Luminous Syncs Your Shipment
Luminous automatically pulls in your Amazon shipment details—no manual entry required. Once synced, the shipment will appear in your Inbound Shipments page inside Luminous. Will appear like this:
Step 3: Reconcile the Shipment by Creating a Transfer Order
To link this shipment to your internal records:
Go to Inbound Shipments in Luminous
Find your shipment and click Reconcile
From the reconciliation menu, create a Transfer Order
Luminous will automatically generate a:
Sales Order (tracking items leaving your warehouse)
Purchase Order (tracking items going to Amazon)
These can both be viewed under the "Transfer Orders" Page, as seen here: This ties everything together and enables auto-receiving later on.
Step 4: Ship the Inventory and Mark as Shipped
Once you’ve physically shipped the goods from your warehouse to Amazon, go back to Luminous and mark the Sales Order as shipped. This confirms that the inventory has left your facility and updates the shipment status. This can be done by:
Selecting the Sales order hyperlink from the Transfer Orders page
Select the "Actions" in the top right corner
Update order status to "Shipped"
Step 5: Amazon Receives the Inventory
When Amazon receives the shipment, they’ll scan and confirm the receipt of your goods.
Step 6: Luminous Automatically Updates Inventory
Luminous will detect the receipt from Amazon and automatically:Mark those units as receivedMove them into On Hand inventory statusNo manual receiving needed. Everything is now synced and complete.
