Step 1: Navigate to the Backend of Luminous

  1. Log into Luminous.

  2. Use a test profile or any customer profile for practice or setup purposes.

Step 2: Create a Product Template

There are two ways to customize a catalog, but the recommended method is to use Product Templates for efficiency and scalability.

  1. Go to the Product Templates section in Luminous.

  2. Click Create New Template and give it a name (e.g., US Wholesale or Distributor Group).

  3. Add Products to the Template:

    • Toggle the products you want included in the group manually.

    • Alternatively, filter by SKU, category, subcategory, or tags for bulk additions.

Optional: Bulk Add Products Using Tags

If you have predefined tags for a group of products:

  1. Filter your products by Tag (e.g., B2B Portal Items).

  2. Bulk tag products if needed.

  3. Return to the template, filter by that tag, and add the filtered products to the template.

Step 3: Assign the Product Template to a Customer or Group

  1. Go to the Sales CRM in Luminous.

  2. Filter or select a specific Company or Contact.

  3. Use the Bulk Select option to select the customers you want to assign the template to.

  4. Choose Select Product Template from the dropdown.

  5. Assign the appropriate product template to the selected customers or groups.

Step 4: Understand the Hierarchy of Product Templates

  1. Per Company:
Each company can have its own product template applied, determining the catalog their users see.

  2. Per Contact:
Contacts associated with multiple companies can have unique templates for each company. The catalog displayed depends on the company context of their login.

Step 5: Preview the Catalog

  1. Log in as the customer to view the applied template.

  2. Check the display in either:

    • List View: A filtered view for easy navigation.

    • Grid View: A Shopify-style product listing display.

This approach ensures that your customers or groups see only the relevant products tailored to their needs, simplifying their purchasing process and maintaining organized product visibility.
