Overview
At this time, Luminous does not support manual editing or custom formatting of automatically generated purchase order (PO) numbers. All POs are assigned a sequential number (e.g., PR number 268) that cannot currently be customized or prefixed by users.
Current Options Available
Although full PO number customization is not yet supported, the following workaround is available:
One-time starting number update: The development team can set a custom starting number for your POs, and they will increment from that point forward. This can help avoid conflicts with external systems like QuickBooks Online (QBO), where PO numbers may also be generated.
To request a starting number change, reach out to the support team with your desired starting value.
Roadmap Update
Customizable PO numbering (such as adding prefixes or adjusting formatting) is a known feature request and is currently on the Luminous development roadmap. While there is no official release date yet, the feature is expected within the next year or so.
Tip
If you're concerned about future numbering conflicts (e.g., with QBO), consider setting a high starting number now as a temporary measure until full customization becomes available.
