What should I do if inventory is doubling for an Amazon product? 📦

If inventory appears to be doubling in Luminous for a product listed on Amazon, it may be due to a mapping issue where multiple Amazon SKUs are linked to the same Luminous SKU. This often happens when Amazon creates separate SKUs for FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon) and FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant) versions of the same product.

🛠️ How to resolve the issue:

  1. Go to your Amazon integration settings:

    • Navigate to Integrations in the left-hand menu.

    • Select Amazon, then click Manage Products.

  2. Locate the duplicated mappings:

    • Search for the affected product.

    • You may see two Amazon SKUs (e.g., SKU 1 and SKU 2) both mapped to the same Luminous SKU (e.g., Example SKU).

    • Both SKUs may show identical inventory counts, such as 285 each.

  3. Understand the cause:

    • Amazon may contain both an FBA and an FBM SKU for a single product.

    • When both SKUs are mapped to one Luminous SKU, Luminous pulls inventory counts for each and adds them together—doubling the total.

  4. Ignore the duplicate SKU:

    • Determine which SKU corresponds to the correct fulfillment channel (usually FBA).

    • In Luminous, mark the other SKU (FBM or non-primary) as Ignored.

    • This prevents its inventory from being counted toward the total.

5. Refresh to confirm:

  • After ignoring the incorrect SKU, refresh the page.

  • Navigate to your SKU page and see that the correct inventory total should now display as shown on Amazon (e.g., 285 instead of the doubled 570).

6. Pull Stocks to Expedite Stock Update in Luminous

  • The sync may take some time for all numbers to match up properly, but if you would like to expedite that update, you can do so by going to Inventory > Stocks Grid and select "Pull External Warehouse Stock"

💡 Tips:

  • Double-check which SKU is actively selling on Amazon to ensure you're ignoring the right one.

  • This issue is more common with Amazon listings that switch between FBA and FBM.
