Step 1: Understand the Difference Between Kits and Assembled Products
Kits: Grouped products that are assembled during order fulfillment (e.g., a 3-pack of T-shirts with different colors).
Assembled Products (Bills of Material): Products that go through a pre-assembly process and result in a transformed item (e.g., a cookie made from raw ingredients).
Step 2: Create a Kit Manually
Navigate to the Products Section:
Go to Inventory Admin > Products in Luminous.Click "Create":
In the top-right corner, select Create.Set Product Type as "Kit":
Specify the product details:
Name (e.g., "3-Pack of T-Shirts").
SKU: Assign a unique SKU to the kit.
Category: Select a relevant category for the kit.
Add the components (individual SKUs) that make up the kit.
Save the Kit:
Once all components and details are added, click Save.
Step 3: Kit Inventory Behavior
Inventory Tracking:
The displayed inventory for a kit represents the maximum number of kits that can be created based on the inventory levels of its components.Sales Deduction:
When a kit is sold, Luminous automatically deducts the required quantities from the inventory of its components.Forecasting and Reporting:
Kit sales are recognized in reports by their components, helping with accurate forecasting and sales insights.
Step 4: Bulk Import Kits
Step 4.1: Import Master SKUs
Navigate to Tools > Imports.
Export the Template:
Click Import Master SKUs and download the Excel template.
Fill out the details for the kits:
Under the Type column, set the product type to Kit.
Import the File:
Upload the completed template to Luminous.
Step 4.2: Import Kit Components
Download the Kit Components Template:
Go to Tools > Imports and click Import Kits.
Download the Excel template for kit components.
Fill Out Kit Details:
Add the kit SKU (created during the master SKUs import).
Include the component SKUs and their respective quantities.
If there are more than two components, duplicate the columns and continue the naming convention.
Upload the File:
Ensure all component SKUs already exist in Luminous before importing.
Upload the completed file.

Ensure all individual SKUs are created in Luminous before including them in a kit.
Kits can have unlimited components, with the flexibility to adjust quantities during import.
