Utilize the Luminous warehouse app to ensure more accurate inventory numbers for better operations. Here is a video that explains how to use this functionality:
Written instructions below:
Accessing the Warehouse Mobile App
In Luminous, go to Tools.
Click Warehouse Mobile App.
Select the Scanner icon.
Open the scanner and select the location you want to view.
Once scanned, you’ll see all SKUs available in that location, along with their current quantities (some may show zero).
Updating Inventory Quantities
Select the product you want to update.
Enter the quantity you’d like to add.
Click Update.
⚠️ Updating a quantity overwrites the existing number.
For example, if the quantity was 5 and you enter 100, it will update to 100. It will not add up to 105
Transferring Inventory Between Locations
Open the Scanner again.
Scan your source location.
Select the product you want to transfer.
Enter the quantity to transfer.
(Optional) Use the calculator toggle to quickly calculate quantities.
Click Transfer, then confirm the transfer.
Scan the destination location to verify the inventory has moved.
You’ll see the transferred quantity reflected in the new location immediately.
Summary
The Warehouse Mobile App supports two main actions:
Updating inventory quantities
Transferring inventory between locations
This section covers how to manage and move inventory by scanning a product barcode in the Warehouse Mobile App. This method allows you to quickly see where a product is stored and transfer it to another location.
Warehouse Mobile App – Part 2: Moving Inventory by Scanning Products
Prerequisite: UPC Code on the SKU
Before using product scanning:
Ensure the UPC code is saved on the SKU.
Navigate to the SKU record and confirm the UPC matches the physical product barcode.
Without a UPC saved, product scanning will not work correctly.
Scanning a Product
Go to Tools → Warehouse Mobile App.
Click the Scanner icon.
Scan the product barcode.
After scanning, the app will display:
All locations where the product exists
Quantity available per location
Lot numbers and production dates (if applicable)
This gives you a full snapshot of where that product lives in your warehouse.
Managing Inventory from the Product View
From the scanned product screen, you have two main options:
Adjustment Entry (Optional)
Adjustment entries add or subtract inventory at a single location.
This does not move inventory between locations.
Use this only to correct quantities.
For moving inventory, continue with Manage Stocks.
Transferring Inventory Between Locations
Click Manage Stocks.
Select the location you want to move inventory from.
Enter the quantity to transfer.
Click Transfer Inventory.
Scan the destination location barcode.
Confirm the transfer.
The inventory will immediately move from the source location to the scanned destination location.
Bulk Inventory Transfers
To move inventory for multiple products at once:
From the product results screen, click Multiple.
Select the products you want to transfer.
Click Initiate Transfer.
Scan or select the destination location.
Enter a quantity greater than zero.
Confirm the transfer.
Once completed, the quantities will update in the new location.
